Facing

أردتٌ اتخاذ شخصيتي من احدى صفحات كتابي، ونصبها، فوجدت في الطين، مادة الخلق الأولى، الكثير من الحرية والارتقاء من لوحة مسطحة الى تجسيد ثلاثي الأبعاد وتشكيل باليد السيدة/الشجرة التي تقاوم العواصف وتواجهها. قد تنحني مع الريح ولكن لا تجتث من الجذر. شعرت لوهلة خلال التصنيع، لو أضفت المزيد ولوقليلاً، في جهة الأغصان المعاكسة، لفقدت اتزانها. تجربة التزجيج ثم الحرق والتزجيج مرة أخرى، تجربة فريدة وملؤها الترقب والمفاجآت.

وضع قطع السيراميك البيضاء على الرخام الأخضر الغامق، مع خلفية الستارة السوداء، كان تضاد كبير أبرز جمالية القطع وأبدى انعكاس، كالمشي على بحيرة ماء صافية، وكأنها تقول: "ها انا ظاهري وانعكاسي متطابق، ما أبديه يعكس سريرتي، لا شيء مزيف." مرشحة لجائزة التعبير من

 I wanted to take my character, from one of my book’s pages, and install it. I found in clay the first matter of creation, much liberty & elevation from a flat painting to a three-dimensional embodiment. The formation by hand building the lady/tree that resists storms & faces them. She might bend with the wind, but never uprooted. I felt for a moment during the making, if I added just a little more branches, on the opposite side, she would lose her balance.

The experience of under glazing, firing, and glazing again, was a unique experience full of anticipation and surprise.

Placing the finished white pieces on the dark green marble, with the black curtain background, was a huge contrast, that accentuated the beauty of the pieces and bared a reflection, as walking on a lake of clear water, as if stating: Here I am, my appearance & mirror congruous, what I show reflects my inner self, no counterfeit.
